
The FTC officially launched its campaign entitled ‘Ou prodwi, ou servis, ou dwa, ou responsabilite’. With the introduction of its new Act in August of 2022, The Fair Trading Act and in commemoration of the World Consumer Rights Day – celebrated on the 15th of March, the FTC seized the opportunity to have this National Campaign to reiterate the importance for consumers to know their rights and responsibilities under the Law, when entering or conducting transactions.
Present at the Ceremony was, the Executive Director in the Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade, Ms. Celia Mangroo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Commission Mrs. Natalie Edmond, representatives from the Planning Authority, SBS, NATCOF, SPTC, and the Officers of the Commission.
The ceremony which started off with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Commission and a note from the Chairperson of NATCOF, proceeded further with the official launching of the Campaign by Ms. Mangroo and ended with the awaited viewing of the Campaign Model. This Campaign Model will be the theme and focus of the activities following the Campaign launching, such as the Commission’s presence in the Community through various programmes to ensure consumers not only receives vast education but are also able to provide feedback, allowing the Commission to continuously improve and deliver on its mandate.
